our district: “Let’s Live Together.” Hearts have been united
in constant prayer for churches that have experienced

On March 11, 2012, the opening ceremony of the Rest

On March 20, 2012, a national holiday, the Tohoku
District Evangelism Committee held a gathering at Sendai
Aobaso Church to commemorate the one-year anniversary
of the March 11, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. The
event was divided into two parts: a symposium and an
Ash Wednesday Worship Service in remembrance of the

Nearly a year has passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake devastated Japan. The focus of the Kyodan’s efforts began with debris removal but has now shifted to local church sanctuary rebuilding. The first Kohitsuji (lambs) Camp, a short-term program designed to provide rest and recreation for families living in Fukushima Prefecture, was held at the Tokyo YMCA’s Yamanakako Center, Jan. 13 (Friday)-15 (Sunday).
