１．奨学金支給期間
2026年9月より、期間は原則として当該年度（1年）限りとする。
なお、奨学金が支給された場合は、5年以内の再応募はできない。
２．留学の機関
日本基督教団関係学校の大学・短期大学・神学校・それらと同等の日本国内のキリスト教主義教育機関、または日本基督教団教師養成機関とする。原則として、研修先は一機関とする。
３．留学の目的
日本における研究・研修を通して、将来、広い意味でエキュメニカルな宣教協力に貢献できることを明確な目的とする。
４．奨学金
（１）支給する奨学金は、一人あたり36万円を上限とし、日本基督教団国際関係委員会の定める額とする。
（２）奨学金の送金は2025年9月末日までに行う。
（３）奨学金の送金は、奨学生の研究・研修機関を通じて行う。
５．奨学生のつとめ
支給期間終了後、1ヶ月以内に報告書を提出しなければならない。報告は、研究・研修の内容、意見、感想等をA4サイズ用紙にて3500字程度にまとめるものとする。
６．申し込み方法
所定の申し込み用紙に必要事項を記入の上、研究・研修機関を通して、2026年8月12日 水曜日（必着）までに下記に提出する。

7． 選考
申し込み書類により、書類審査を行い最終決定とする。但し、必要と認めた者に対しては、国際関係委員会による面接を行い、それをもって最終決定する。なお選考は9月中旬までに行い、選考結果を研究・研修機関に書面をもって通知する。
＜注意事項＞
応募前に、本奨学金規定第四条による下記の条件すべてを満たしていることを確認されたい。
１）アジア地域等から日本へ留学しているキリスト者。
２）既に日本に滞在して研修している者。
３）日本において日本基督教団、在日大韓基督教会（KCCJ）のいずれかの教会に出席している者。
４）日本において、また母国において、エキュメニカルな宣教協力に貢献する志をもつ者。

20226 United Church of Christ in Japan (UCCJ (Kyodan)) Ecumenical Scholarship
Guidelines for Applicants
1．Regarding availability of the scholarship:
The applications period for this scholarships begins in August 2026 and, in principle, is limited to a single fiscal year (until March 31, 2027). An applicant who is awarded a scholarship must wait five years before applying again.
2．Regarding eligible educational institutions:
The educational institution where an applicant will study must be a UCCJ-affiliated university, junior college, or seminary, or an equivalent Christian-heritage educational institution within Japan, or a recognized training institution for UCCJ ministers. In principle, studies shall occur at a single institution.
3．Regarding the purpose of an applicant’s international study:
The purpose of the applicant’s research/study in Japan should clearly be to contribute to ecumenical mission and cooperation in future, in a broad sense.
4．Regarding the amount and remittance of scholarship funds:
1) This scholarship is for an individual. The UCCJ Committee on Ecumenical Relations will make the decision regarding the amount, up to a maximum of 360,000 Yen.
2) The remittance of scholarship funds will take place by the last day of September.
3) Scholarship funds will be remitted to the recipient indirectly, via the finance department of the school/institution.
5．Regarding responsibilities of scholarship recipients:
Each recipient must submit a report about their work, within one month after the scholarship period has ended. The report should summarize the recipient’s research/study, opinions and reflections etc. about their studies/training, be around 3,500 Japanese characters in length (roughly 1,800 words in English), and submitted on A4 size paper.
6．Regarding the application deadline:
The application form and all supporting documents, including recommendations, must be submitted through the applicant’s educational/training institution, and must arrive at the UCCJ office through the educational/training institution by Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

- Recommendation from the pastor of the church you attend in Japan (The church must belong to either the UCCJ [Kyodan] or the Korean Christian Church in Japan [KCCJ]).
- 3 Recommendations from professors (or equivalent) at the educational/training institution
- Declaration of research/study plan (Indicate clearly and in detail the purpose of study/training, name of the institution and duration.)
- Financial plan document (Indicate in detail the overall amount of educational funds needed, as well as details of financial sources, such as personal savings and other income, and the grant amount sought from the UCCJ scholarship.

7．Regarding the decision of the committee:
The UCCJ Committee on Ecumenical Relations will make its final decisions based on the evaluation of application documents. In certain cases, the committee may request to interview the candidate before reaching final decision. Selection will be completed by mid-September, and results will be communicated, in writing, to each educational/training institution where the applicant is enrolled.

Please make certain that you meet all of the basic requirement below, before submitting an application.
- The candidate must be a Christian from Asia, or from other regions, studying at an accredited institution in Japan.
- The candidate must already be researching/studying/training in Japan.
- The candidate must be attending a UCCJ church, or a KCCJ church in Japan.
- The candidate must have a sincere heart to further ecumenical mission in Japan, or in their country of origin.
