「平和を求める祈り －ウクライナとロシアを覚えて－」について
去る2月24日、ロシアがウクライナに軍事侵攻をしました。このことは、どのような理由をもってしても決して容認できるものではありません。
特に、この度、ロシアのプーチン大統領が核抑止部隊に特別態勢を取るように命じたことについて、世界で唯一の戦争被爆国である日本にあるキリスト教会として、何としても最悪の事態となることを防がなければなりません。
そこで私たちは、「悪から遠ざかり、善を行い、平和を願って、これを追い求めよ。」（ペトロの手紙 一 3章11節）とのみ言葉に聴き従い、ロシアの軍事侵攻を押しとどめることができなかった私たち自身の罪を深く悔い改めつつ、ウクライナからのロシア軍の即時撤退を求め、世界宣教委員会が作成した「平和を求める祈り －ウクライナとロシアを覚えて－」を共に祈りたいと思います。
なお、世界教会協議会（ＷＣＣ）や日本キリスト教協議会（ＮＣＣ）などが、ロシアの武力行使を非難し、戦闘の終結を呼びかける声明を発表しているほか、台湾基督長老教会（ＰＣＴ）などが、ウクライナへの軍事侵攻を即時停止することを祈る祈祷会の開催を呼びかけており、私たちもこの祈りにおいてその呼びかけに応答したいと思います。

平和を求める祈り―ウクライナとロシアを覚えて―
主なる神よ
私たちは罪の中に住む者、そして罪人である私たちの共同体もまた、罪を犯します。
あなたの聖なる火で私たちを清めてください。
あなたを畏れることを忘れ、自分を大きくし、傲慢になる時、
私たちは他者を脅かし、傷つけ、
あなたにも背を向けます。
主よ、人間の傲慢さを打ち砕いてください。
万軍の主よ、あなたの赦しの力は私たちの罪より偉大です。
私たちを、この世界を、罪から救ってください。
あなたの赦しに触れ、私たちにも赦す力を与えてください。
多くの人々の生死に関わる力を持つ人々がいます。
その者たちのために祈ります。
彼らが命を選ぶことができますように。
争い合う道を選び取った人々のために祈ります。
平和の神であるあなたの教えを
彼らが思い出すことができますように。
神よ、あなたは剣を鋤に変え、
私たちに戦いを止め、平和を求めるよう、
その御心を示されます。
世界の指導者たちが、日本の指導者たちが、
世界の教会が、日本の教会が、
キリストの知恵と愛によって導かれ、
勇気をもってこの局面と向き合うことができますように。
武力ではなく、対話と相互理解、
異なる立場にある者たちを互いに思いやる心をもって
平和の道を模索していくことができますように。
ウクライナとロシアの人々のために祈ります。
命を脅かされている人々のために、
恐れと不安に襲われている人々のために、
平和を求める人々のために祈ります。
彼らの嘆きに耳を傾け、
あなたが共にいて御手をもって彼らを守り、
滅びの道から救い出してくださいますように。
慰めと希望を与えてくださいますように。
あなたの平和をもたらしてくださいますように。
命と平和の主よ、
私たちに、それぞれに置かれている場所から声を挙げ、
あなたの御心を宣べ伝えることができますように。
あなたの御心を求め、それに従いつつ、
世界のキリストに従う者たちと共に、
私たちを、平和を造り出す者としてくださいますように。
私たちの祈りをとりなし、
私たちの嘆きに耳を傾けてくださる

Regarding the Prayer for Peace —Remembering Ukraine and Russia—
On February 24, Russia invaded Ukraine. This is an unacceptable act, for any reason.
In particular, regarding President Vladimir Putin’s order to place Russia’s nuclear deterrent force on special alert, we as a church in Japan, the only country to have suffered atomic bombings, must make every effort to prevent the worst of all outcomes.
We therefore wish to listen and submit to the scripture words, "Let them turn away from evil and do good; let them seek peace and pursue it." (I Peter 3:11), deeply repent our own sin of failing to hold back Russia’s military invasion, call for the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, and pray together the "Prayer for Peace - Remembering Ukraine and Russia" prepared by the Committee for Global Mission.
The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the National Christian Council in Japan (NCCJ) have issued statements condemning Russia's use of force and calling for an end to the fighting, and the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) and others have issued calls to gather in prayer for an end to the fighting. We wish to respond to these calls through this prayer.

A Prayer for Peace —Remembering Ukraine and Russia—
Dear God, our Lord
We live in sin, and the communities that we belong to also commit sins.
Cleanse us with your holy fire.
When we forget to fear you, and we inflate ourselves and become imperious,
we threaten and injure others,
and turn away from you.
Lord, shatter our human arrogance.
Lord of Hosts, your power to forgive is stronger than the burden of guilt that takes us down.
Deliver us, deliver this world from sin.
Touch us with the grace of your forgiveness, and give us strength and humility to forgive.
Some people possess the power of life and death over many others.
We pray for them,
that they will choose life.
We pray for those who have chosen the path to war,
that they will remember your direction.
You are the God of Peace.
You have shown us your will;
It is to turn swords into plowshares, to make war no more, to seek peace,
and to repent of our evil ambitions.
We pray for the leaders of this world and leaders of Japan,
and for the churches of this world and churches in Japan.
May all be guided by the wisdom and love of Christ,
so that they can face the present challenges with courage.
Empower them, and all of us, to discover the path of peace,
not through force of arms, but through loving dialogue and mutual understanding,
with hearts of mutual care for those whose situations differ from theirs and our own.
We pray for the people of Ukraine and Russia.
We pray for the people whose lives are threatened,
for those who are assaulted by fear and anxiety,
and for those who eagerly call for peace.
Dear God, hear their cries,
be with them and protect them by your hand,
save them from the path of ruin.
Please, give them comfort and hope.
Bestow your peace.
Dear Lord of life and peace,
Let us proclaim your good will,
lifting up our voices, each in our own place.
Help us to seek and follow your will,
together with Christ’s followers around the world,
so that we may be makers of peace.
Before God’s only Son, Jesus Christ,
mediator of our prayers,
who hears our cries,
we offer this prayer.
